How to Get Gadgets on Both Sides of Blogspot

Blogs are a great way for businesses to communicate with customers, and Blogger provides a simple way for anyone to create a blog in a few short steps. The side columns on your Blogspot-hosted blog can host a number of gadgets to improve the functionality of the site, including social links, automated translation and blog statistics. Expand the number of gadgets that your Blogspot blog can display by choosing a template layout with two or more side columns.

Step 1

Launch your Web browser and log into your Blogger dashboard.

Step 2

Click on the blog you wish to edit.

Step 3

Click the “Template” link on the left side of the screen.

Step 4

Click the “Customize” button.

Click “Layout” in the top panel.

Step 6

Select a body layout with three or more columns. You can also select a footer layout with multiple columns to add gadgets to both sides of the footer area.

Step 7

Click the “Apply to Blog” button at the top-right corner of the screen.

Click the “Back to Blogger” link at the top of the screen.

Step 9

Click the “Layout” link on the left side of the screen.

Step 10

Drag and drop gadgets to place them on the template. You can also click the “Add a gadget” link to select and place new gadgets on the blog.

Step 11

Click the “Preview” button at the top of the screen to preview the blog with the new template and gadget changes.

Step 12

Click the “Save arrangement” button at the top of the screen when you’re satisfied with the layout.
